Changpeng Zhao spoke about the progress in finding the hacker of the BSC Token Hub bridge

The Binance cryptocurrency exchange has “come close” to revealing the identity of the hacker responsible for hacking the BSC Token Hub cross-chain bridge. The CEO of the company Changpeng Zhao told CNBC.

According to him, after communicating with the authorities, the platform team “narrowed down” the persons behind the attack.

“In fact, at this particular moment, the law enforcement agencies gave us several clues about who they think it might be,” Zhao said.

The head of the exchange added that cooperation with law enforcement officers is one of the ways to “make the space safe.”

Recall that on October 6, the developers suspended the work of the BNB Chain against the background of the hacking of the BSC Token Hub bridge. The unknown managed to withdraw only $100 million from the stolen funds. Later, the network was restored.

The team announced a community vote on further steps after the incident.

On October 12, BNB Chain developers announced a hard fork in order to restore the internal cross-chain infrastructure between the BNB Beacon Chain management blockchain and the BNB Smart Chain consensus level.
